Grand Opening of the GC Duty-Free Store at Moc Bai International Border Gate

On the morning of January 16, 2025, at the Moc Bai International Border Gate in Tay Ninh, the Grand Opening Ceremony of the GC Duty-Free Store was held.

Attending the ceremony were former Deputy Minister of National Defense Tran Don; former members of the Party Central Committee and former Provincial Party Secretaries Vo Van Phuong, Nguyen Thi Minh, and Le Thi Ban; Consul General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City Chan Sorykan; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Hong Son; former provincial leaders; local department and sector leaders; as well as representatives from the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone has been identified by the province as a key development hub, playing a particularly important role in connecting trade, services, tourism, and international economic cooperation. Moc Bai is currently the largest land-border trade gateway between Vietnam and Cambodia, with an average of over 2 million crossings per year and thousands of vehicles and passengers daily.

The province is oriented toward attracting high-quality investment, strongly developing modern trade-service forms, logistics, and border tourism, thereby maximizing its role as the province's "gateway" in regional supply chains. Within this orientation, commercial-service projects in the border gate area — especially the duty-free store model — are of great importance, not only serving shopping needs but also adding service value, creating jobs, increasing budget revenue, and promoting sustainable border trade development.

The GC Duty-Free Store, invested by Golden Century Trading Co., Ltd. (a member of the IPPG Group), has an area of over 1,300 m² and over 100 product lines from world-renowned brands, benefiting from preferential policies on import-export tax, special consumption tax, and VAT — serving customers who have completed departure procedures at Moc Bai International Border Gate. The GC Duty-Free Store not only meets the shopping needs of tourists but will also serve as a bridge to promote Vietnamese products in the future.

The provincial leadership affirmed that Tay Ninh commits to continue accompanying and creating all possible favorable conditions within the legal framework for reputable enterprises such as Golden Century and IPPG to confidently invest and expand their operations.

At the Grand Opening Ceremony, Golden Century Company donated VND 300 million to Tay Ninh Province's "For the Poor" fund to jointly carry out social welfare activities with the local community.
